Cliff Rockwell is The Eternal Showman!
Clifton "Cliff" Anthony Rockwell is a singer, song-writer, and musician. He was born October 25, 1928 in Boston, MA, where he was also raised. Cliff was reared by a single mother due to his father's uninterest and eventual incarceration. Despite this, Cliff had a happy childhood. His family struggled with poverty, and Cliff did odd jobs to help his mother get by. He was a known troublemaker but loved by many due to his charm and jovial personality. Cliff had great musical ability from a young age. It started with singing, and he picked up piano and guitar from locals. He admired the underground music scene in Boston and dreamt of being a famous rockstar. His mother and his lover, Frances, encouraged him, despite the odds. By day, Cliff Rockwell worked at his best friend Robert's bar, Lucky's, took care of his mother, and spent time with Frances. By night, he was performing. Fame would be a slow, grueling crawl, but he was willing to go all the way. His life turned upside down when his mother grew ill. She was Cliff's only family, and he had to do something. Money was short, and unless the whole music thing started paying off fast, then he was doomed. Cliff heard a rumor that there was a way to get any wish that you desired come to fruition. Go to the crossroads and make an offering. He did exactly as he was told, and Satan himself appeared to Cliff. The mere mortal pleaded to gain fame beyond his comprehension. He never wanted to be forgotten. Cliff received his wish. Satan gave Cliff a supernatural charm to guarantee that no one would grow tired of him and an unnatural stage presence. When Cliff performed, a strange energy took over his body that made him fear his own self. In exchange, Cliff would become immortal to assure that his fame and image could never die. He would, indeed, be remembered forever. The newfound celebrity was devastated and could no longer hide the truth when his small circle grew suspicious of the quick rise of the small town boy from Boston. His mother and Frances were shattered upon the realization. With no known treatment for his mother, she inevitably passed not long after the deal. Frances, though loyal, knew that their relationship could not last. The two mutually parted ways but stayed close throughout the years. Even on her deathbed, Cliff was by her side. Cliff changed after fame. He grew mean, cynical, unhappy, and hardened to the world. Drugs and alcohol became his escape, and unfortunately, his love for music died along with his spirit. Now, Cliff roams the earth, going through the motions of fame. In his free time, he can be found at Lucky's drinking or performing, where Robert still holds things down in his old age. He has been dubbed "The Eternal Showman" due to his long lasting career and performance quality.

Cliff's face claim is Austin Butler as portrayed in Elvis. His speaking voice claim is Jordan Belfort as portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street. His singing voice claim is Steven Tyler of Aerosmith (emphasis on Tyler's 70s/80s sound). His creator was inspired by Elvis as directed by Baz Luhrmann, the legend of Robert Johnson, and their love for classic rock music.

His immortality is not a known fact. Cliff Rockwell aka The Eternal Showman has been spun as a long term project. The original Cliff Rockwell is dead according to public knowledge, and he has been deceased for many years, succumbing to a tragedy in his young age. It is rumored that newcomers are given makeovers and lengthy lessons to sing and act like the original Cliff Rockwell to keep his legacy alive. It is similar to Elvis impersonators except managed under a label and more elaborate.

Some people like to tease that Cliff is an Elvis copycat! We're fine with that, but note that there is no Elvis Presley in Cliff's universe. Cliff Rockwell is the "Elvis" of his universe in fame and notoriety.
